The sound on the these speakers is terrible. If you like rock n roll, these are NOT for you. They dround out the background instruments. The vocals are super strong. So when I wanna rock in my truck, I crank up the volume, but the vocals are so dominant I cant get into the songs. The newest development is the left front tweeter is now silent, so I get the speaker has been blown. Crap speakers man. Very disappointed.

Should've bit the bullet and dropped double for the Alpine Type R 6.5 separates that I ALMOST went with. These drivers are nice for sure. Good clean sound with only 60 true watts behind them. But the tweeters are LUDICROUSLY overly brittle!!! Crossovers are set right, but WTF??? I have to drop my eq highs to -2+ db to get them from splitting my ears open with "metal shards" of sound. This brings my eq out of balance overall :-(
I've checked everything. I have a sony mex 5700 deck that has the DSO option to "raise" the sound stage by increasing tweeter volume (amongst other things). I have this turned OFF, as even one notch up make it impossible to sit in the car while the shards of sound-glass rip through your flesh.
I've managed to tweak it enough to live, so these get a decent rating from me since they're not bad at all in the driver / mid area.
Value is good for sure. Good product. But think about soft or silk tweeters if you want round sound like I do/did.
